Our Augusta orchard is located in Victoria, not far from the small township of Kenley. Augusta is the smallest of our three orchards.

Almost 75% of Augusta’s land area has now been planted – a total area of 725 hectares.
Augusta’s trees are spaced 7m by 4.5m and are tended by a dedicated team of 24 full-time staff. Water for irrigation is taken from the Murray River, close to its junction with the Wakool River near Kenley.
In late 2022, the orchard’s river pump infrastructure and the township of Kenley were almost flooded, but the crisis was averted when the community of Kenley residents and neighbouring farms came together to build a levy.

Augusta History
Augusta’s history has proven its soil is fertile and well-suited to farming.
Prior to its acquisition by AFS, Augusta was a grape vineyard. From 2017 to 2018, the land was developed and planted with Non-Pareil, Carmel and Monterey almond trees.
In February 2019, a localised wind event damaged nearly 30,000 trees across Augusta which were later replanted.
The orchard underwent an expansion in 2022, leading to its size today.
